The former CEO of FTX has consented to be extradited to the US, where he is facing criminal charges, according to a recent CNN report.
Sam Bankman-lawyer Fried’s in the Bahamas, Jerone Roberts, is quoted by CNN as saying that SBF “has agreed to be voluntarily extradited to the United States of America.”
Roberts added that the extradition process’ conclusion, which should happen later today, will be the subject of his subsequent court appearance.
He might be extradited the same day as the court appearance, the attorney added. He claims that SBF’s choice is motivated by his desire to “put the customers right.”
SBF is being prosecuted on a number of counts in the US by the Department of Justice, the Commodities and Futures Trading Commission, and the Securities Exchange Commission.
