In a heartwarming tribute, the Dogecoin community’s fundraising efforts have resulted in a bronze statue of Kabosu, the Shiba Inu that inspired the Doge meme and Dogecoin. The statue will be unveiled in Sakura Furusato Square in November.
November will bring a heartwarming tribute as the Dogecoin community’s crowdfunding campaign culminates in the unveiling of a bronze statue of Kabosu, the Japanese Shiba Inu that inspired both the beloved Doge meme and the Dogecoin cryptocurrency. Launched on Kabosu’s 17th birthday on Nov. 2, 2022, the campaign will reach its pinnacle in Sakura Furusato Square at the beginning of November this year.
This statue represents more than just a physical monument; it’s a testament to the profound impact of one dog, one meme, and one community on the world. Gary Lachance, a board member of the Dogecoin Foundation, expressed his excitement, stating that “Kabosu has inspired laughter and goodwill in countless hearts.”
Despite facing challenges, including a significant market downturn, the Dogecoin community’s relentless positivity prevailed. Their initial fundraising goal of $42,069 was achieved within just 72 hours. Sakura Furusato Square, with its picturesque surroundings, will provide the perfect setting for this lasting symbol of positivity and unity, paying homage to the world’s most beloved dog.
