Former British Minister Joins Cryptocurrency Firm


Former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Lord Philip Hammond, has joined crypto- custodian group Cooper as a senior advisor with ambitions to “promote the UK as a global leader in digital asset technology”

The London-based startup, which provides custody and infrastructure services in the digital asset sector, is said to facilitate more than $50 billion in transaction value per month for over 400 institutional clients

During his administration as a consultant between 2016 and 2019, Hammond was praised for expanding the country’s fintech sector as well as boosting the capital environment for startups
